Bouncing back and Spinning around. This must have been me today. When you’re put on a task that you don’t even know how to begin is somewhat a crazy roller coaster ride. I’ve been in a way, in my opinion acting idiot if not a little dumb today and I just couldn’t wait for the clock to hit that 6pm home rush.  

It’s my second day working in a publishing company. My first assignment was management audit which led me to reading ample references and manuals that are quite unfamiliar. I mean the whole process of how the entire company works. My mentors have been fairly relaying the instructions to me yet I was trapped figuring out the dos and don’ts of my assignment. I’m practically at ease with figures and searching for deviations or variances when these numbers are against the standards. And today, I was outnumbered by words. Though I’m confident dealing with them as well, this premier project had shaken me. Maybe its being not used to it that makes it hard. But who knows it’s just a start and All things are difficult before they are easy, my 6th grade teacher would always say.

There are several issues that pain an auditor if not totally makes him stupid, if he’s not patient enough to deal with it. One is dealing with people and hardly getting the information you needed from them and waiting for them to act on matters you think are of a material concern. I must say this sort of a heck had pulled me today. My task which is management audit had for its purpose to locate job positions and check whether there are overlapping duties which need elimination and recommendations to management to either relocate the employee or to dissolve it according to their discretion. I scheduled an interview with a company department manager and it had gone smoothly from the start up to end. We both agreed that she’ll help me locate a certain employee on our hefty company. Based on an organization table I’ve got from the human resources personnel, I suspected her department was holding the job position I’m looking for. She was in denial that she’d let me go through several company departments, bouncing from one manager to another, that in the end I was right that she’s holding the person I’m looking for.

It was nearing 6pm and my wish for calling it a day is almost at hand. At the end of the day it’s a learning experience. I guessed patience would always be a virtue. We all have to be passionate in whatever we do. If you’re in a transition, you must deal with it the best that you can even it means bouncing back and spinning around your newfound circles.

IN TRANSITION

I’m going places I’ve never been to,

Like my life’s beginning a new,

And some things have to be forgotten,

Like losing old friends I didn’t want leaving..

I’ll gamble with life as time brings my fate,

Take a journey with strangers and breathe the air they live,

To learn from them things I used to be strange,

Waking up a new day, with a renewed faith

I’ll give it a shot embracing things I used to hate,

But I promise not to lose what’s been good and best,

Like taking a whiskey without getting drunk,

Stop to smell the roses on a public park..

I’ll break free from these old circles,

Be on a horizon, forgetting all of my troubles,

But I promise not to let the past be gone like bubbles,

What’s the point of taking flight if these footprints be altered..

I’ll walk a path no one knows I’ll be in,

For tables are turning, and my fate isn’t anymore same,

If it takes me years to search what I long for,

I’ll keep my faith, like a love patiently crossing borders..

I’ll start loving myself a little more than I should,

Forgive myself for my mistakes and try to get better,

I’ll start to leave people taking  me for granted,

Be more concerned to ones who loved me much better…

I wont fear being alone on each new adventure,

Take a leap of faith on life’s unknown crossroads,

If everything about me changes the way I’d never known,

I won’t regret leaving my past for life’s constantly in transition.
